The piece "33.27":

A woven papyrus, a story of how traveling brought us together and shaped us the last few years.
A testimony of the most important moments and life lessons since we became nomads in the form of weaved patterns. Our desire was to explore the possibilities of applying any kind of materials, natural, recycled and discarded raw material in the sake of weaving and to harmoniously connect the art of handmade weaving with new techniques. How can all these materials be reused and obtain a second life?
Each one of us perceives and translates those principles in a different way, respecting our backgrounds and concerns. A star, a mirror, a cross, flat shells, a mouth and lots of life...
“Mixing and connecting my background of working with textiles and loom weaving techniques that I learned and fell in love during my trip to France and Laos.” , Marta
“Delving into materials - any kind, waste materials, natural, recycled, old - and exploring their potentials, applying my love for time-lasting relationships into the design world. Also, making good use of the inherited appreciation and respect for fabrics that stay intact in time (heritage from my mother and grandmother).” , Despina
