If current pollution rates maintain, there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050, according to the United Nations Environmental Program.
New Materials is the exploration of natural materials as new, sustainable bio-alternatives that can be applied in packaging, tableware solutions or even as raw material for furniture systems.
The main value of the project is to give a second life to food waste that would otherwise end up in landfills.
Discards of tremoços, sea shells (both of them typically found in Portugal) and peanut shells that we collected from local supermarkets and bars, were used for the development of this project.
This is a project under development and the samples presented here are part of our experimentation.
